Travel . FICTON AND NON FICTION . POETRY
It feels sooo good to be lost in the right direction… and that is what travel is to me. An adventure. A soul calling. A yearning I cannot explain but want to share for it is nothing short of magic. So, I write.
When I travel, I have always had this profound feeling of being lost yet being found at the same time… and there is NOTHING like it. Every new village, new city, new person, new language, new culture, new food… exquisite. Almost sacred. This whole new world is opening up to me and baring its soul. It is addicting and it’s so good, I need to share it.
I would call myself a closet writer. From the time I was young (preteens) I was submitting poetry. Only one poem has ever been published, but young me was thrilled! Apparently so was every other person who applied because every single submission got accepted. Though a disappointing start to my published work, I am on a journey to now openly share all that my “pen” creates.
For now, during the Covid-19 pandemic, I am content to root right here, in Westman, in the middle of nowhere, or rather, in the middle of everywhere. The wind blowing ideas into my mind, passerby’s creating characters yet to be, dreams at night becoming future travel goals…all happening in the heart of Brandon, Manitoba.
I am thrilled to pursue and fulfill my passion for writing in the company of the talented ladies who are the Brandon Writers Collective.
